It sounds like 60cc engine lack off power in osage orange very hardwood... Both saws engines sounded on low rpm, and bog down... If it was me, for that kind off hardwood, i would go 70cc
That Holtzforma ain't bad ... It's no MS250 but it ain't bad 😂
Haha your right about that one buddy
I think I see what you did. Nice video. I can't mow much because the belt keeps coming off the pulley. I'm needing a bigger tractor but until then I plan on using this.
Hey. I have a LS MT125 and the belt is stretched already in just under 2 years of ownership. I saw where you bought a gates A117 belt but was it 2 belts or just 1? I was told by the place I got it I was looking at $200 or $300. Less than $15 sounds a lot better than that to me.
I could use that on my dad’s septic line.
Better hide them keys
Haha he sure likes running it with me, in a few years that seat will probably always be taken 😄
I think you'll be finding a lot of holes on your property😂
Haha I’m sure you’re right! He has a blast in that machine with me.
That's the good stuff there! I love teaching my kids these skills!
No doubt! We both were having a good time with it. Thanks for watching buddy!
Nice work...( keep it as long as you can for as long as you can )..
Thanks! That’s the ticket for firewood, I appreciate ya watching!
dumb
I have a Stihl fs 94r i've used it commercialy for I think 10 months
They are great trimmers, this one has been a beast!
I'm surprised at how slow your Ms361 cut. It didn't seem much faster than the ms250. When I had my Ms361, I remember it cutting better than that. Weird. That Echo is cutting great.😎👍
Yeah to its defense the rakers needed a good bump. I do feel the echo is a faster saw though. Thanks for watching.
Fought a tire for a solid hour. Was sweating profusely, watched your video while cooling down. Had it back on the rim in less than 3 minutes! Thank you Dave, you Sir are a Godsend!
Awesome I'm glad it helped! Thanks for watching, take care.
Boy it would've been nice if it had a Mechanical thumb
Yes it sure would! I'll be building one at some point, ive been gathering material for it.
Hope your back on here
Thanks buddy, ill be posting videos from time to time. The work on the farm isn't going away any time soon haha, take care Steve!
I was just telling cj how I miss your videos
Hey Dan, I sure appreciate ya watching! We have been super busy with softball and I haven't been real motivated ot make videos but I'll be posting every now and again. Take care!
Just like @HermanWoodworks I never recall seeing the mini ex. More videos with that please? :). I just rented one to do something similar on my own property and now I keep trying to figure out how to justify buying one.
Thanks for watching! Yes I've just gotten this machine a few months the ago and my has it been handy. I'm learning ways to use it differently all the time.
Do you folks still have the underbrush mulcher? That would make short work out of them after getting them down on the ground with the excavator. You surely had a good time with the excavator and it does provide a little more safety bringing down the dead trees and vines. You'll have a great time with that one. Hope the rains hold off and give you time to get the vines all down. Have fun and stay safe. Fred. It's looking good around there.
Hello Dave, that time off year👏🪵👍🏼🇺🇸
Howdy Larry! Ahh yes busy busy haha, hope all is well your way!
Howdy! I don't remember seeing the mini excavator before, do you own it or rent? I've had alot of projects in the past, present, and future that a machine would be handy for...consider me jealous....lol! Keep up the good work!
Hey! Thanks for watching. I have recently bought this machine and it sure has been handy, I'm finding different uses for it all the time. I sold my larger LS tractor recently and am hoping to add a skidsteer here soon. I sure appreciate the comment, take care!
@OhioHillTopsHobbyFarm yeah the tractors are nice, but the shear brute force of a skidsteer and excavator sure would come in handy! That size excavator looks perfect for a family farm!
If your going to use that garden tractor for logging you should get wheel weights and fill the tires with fluid. I use windshield washer fluid because it's cheap and I can do it myself but rimguard/beet juice is best. It makes a huge difference adding 250 lbs to the rear tires for traction and stability.
Sweet I have a hypertherm powermax45 xp. It’s the only tool I have that I like more than my little miller 211
I split 4"x5" x 7' posts out of a 4' logs years ago. We used a tool called a checker to start the split. I wish I could find one today, I have some cedar logs coming.
Tractor needs trac tires and some tire weights and some weight on the front. You’re pulling a lot of heavy stuff.
It would be like you said that my MS311 cuts faster thas MS290... LOGIC... Bigger teeth and more power..
Your right, no replacement for displacement! Thanks for watching
@@OhioHillTopsHobbyFarm Any time..
Idle Up bro🎉
Good content! My CS 620 P with a 24" bar has become my main Saw on the family Farm for Logging, Firewood, land clearing, etc. It is much more than just a Firewood Saw. My CS 7310 is excellent as well, but it is heavy, and the 620 has way better ergonomics on the steep terrain I am cutting on sometimes, the X Series are excellent Pro Saws!
Thanks for watching and commenting! Yes these echo saws are great, I really enjoyed running this 620. Take care and safe fellin.
Dude has no clue how to split wood. First of all, u don't need to try and murder it. Second, put a round on the ground as a base and then put a round to split on top of that. 3rd, actually aim the ax, aim at the edges. Fourth. Square up with the wood, feet spread apart, use 2 hands, and take a deliberate swing. Watching u do this is ridiculous
Thanks I'm really glad you feel your opinion matters even the slightest haha, also no need to aim for the edges when your swing is good enough to easily blast through the center. Maybe you should stick with a hydraulic splitter of this is a problem. Ahhh now that your angry just relax and realize I'm just playing. Take care and be kind.
Hi from Don, try taking black stove pipe, or strong tuff sheet metal make bullet nose cone for front log it got be 12-15" long, then put rope through nose cone and pull it without digging resistance in dirt/mudd, makes it slide 🛝
Hey Don, thanks for the comment and recommendation. I'll have to give that a try sometime! This was a fun video to make and im glad it is still getting watched. Take care!
I just got a Timberwolf, its great. I only have owned one other Echo saw, a smaller one. Its works good for me the few times I used it. Stihl has good saws too. These are not bad for homeowner/ranch use. Echo is the Toyota of small engines. Stihl is the BMW or Volkswagen depending on how much you're willing to pay. I chatted the guy up at Home Depot and told him to give me a discount for the slightly ripped box and he gave me 50 bucks off, so I got a $459 saw for $409, I had to buy it at that price. Thanks for the video comparing the two.
Hey thanks for commenting! Sounds like you have gotten a good saw for a good price. Best of luck with it, they are great saws. Thanks again, take care!
The Timberwolf is a great saw with lots of potential. With a few mods they rip. Carb mod, timing advance, muff mod, base gasket delete and it will scoot. Also the 620 coil and full wrap is nice addition as well.
Sure is fast
Haha all in the operator 😆
I just got a fairly new Stihl ms 250 from a garage sale, completely taken apart, in a box for 25 dollars, the starter was bad but he had bought a lot of replacement parts for it and it runs great
Thats a good deal! They are great saws
Wish we had access to this kind of wood in Oregon. We mainly burn Doug fir
It sure burns nice! Makes a pretty flame also, thanks for watching!
I've operated a few of them fun little toy
It sure is! Ive been knocking out projects left and right so far!
I guess that would be ok for boiler wood
You betcha!
Soo envious, lol
It's made short work of projects for me already!
Fun little toy
For sure! Ive been knocking out projects like a breeze with this thing. Sure is going to be handy!
Really nice Davey.
Thank you Dean! I've been having alot of fun on it already. Have a good weekend buddy
Hey Dave, looks like your new toy will do the job around there. You and Zane were having a great time around there and I know you have a couple of helpers who are wanting to become apprentices operators as soon as Dad and Mom gives the go ahead. Stay safe and put it to work for you. Fred.
Thank you Fred! Yes it is going to be a great machine for us. Looking forward to more projects!
@@OhioHillTopsHobbyFarm you'll find lots to do with it around there Dave.
Dang! That worked pretty well!
Thanks! Yes I can't wait until I get a thumb for it, ive been in disbelief on the power this machine has compared to my tractor backhoe.
@@OhioHillTopsHobbyFarm how much does the unit weigh?
**Almost all of these comparison videos** - Lemme take this clapped out Stihl with 500 working hours on it and put it up against a brand new, out of the box saw. Well GOLLY, that new saw sure cuts good!
I would agree, almost all of them! But in this case that 290 has a new 390 BB kit with maybe 15-20 hours on it. But yes that new echo did cut great! Thanks for watching.
Do you have a video of that little shelf you built for the 3 point? What is that based on?
I think I have one on it, I welded angle iron together to make the frame then put treated lumber on the deck. Works great!
Nice fire, and way to many channels to watch, and too much going on now
Thanks buddy! Hopefully you all are getting some nice weather. Take care
I was weed wackin around some boards up against a chain fence of course i hit the fence and the last piece of sting came off,i start taking the head off to put more line on and never new i hit the damn yellow jackets nest 2 seconds prior. I got lit up 7 times . Threw all the parts in my hand and bailed out lol. The next day first job of the day i got it again 8 times by them lil bastards.
Ahh dang that's the worst haha. I always find myself going over the nest and be fine but it always seems like I end up going back over them without knowing 3-4 min later and getting stung.
How is the tractor holding up?
It's still great! I've got a bit over 300 hours and it hasn't skipped a beat.
The only worry I have is damaging my 'engine/clutch' cable shaft inside from the abrupt hits and stress. I already previously destroyed one with an edger attachment and it wasn't pretty. I must research for replacement cables 'ON THE ENGINE end, NOT the attachment end........... If it was the attachment end, I could just buy new attachment shafts, and my Craftsman 2 stroke is a 25cc, so it should be just fine since most are using these on 21cc engines.
Yes that's definitely a problem you could have! I like this blade because I use it like a chainsaw, starting into the larger pieces slow and letting it do the cutting. If you swing into bigger brush hard you could definitely make yourself some problems. In my opinion this is a much better choice than the star blades.
Just subscribed, good content and will continue to watch..
Hey Thanks! I sure appreciate it :)
Great work as always on the blue! 💙
Thanks for watching, i sure appreciate it!
Echos tend to have more torque than Stihl in the same size class saw, Stihl seems to make its power higher revs.
Yes i sure enjoyed that echo
Do you not have your chipper anymore? Or just easier to burn piles?
Its my fathers chipper, works great but really its easier to burn.
@@OhioHillTopsHobbyFarm ok, I know I’ve seen it on your channel but it’s been a while. I just got woodland mills new chipper, man does it make cleaning up brush easy!
